WHITE SPACES IS A SERIES OF SHORT SIGNAL COLLECTION. Observations of layered shifts in culture, business and change. Virpi Vaittinen's curated view into emerging ideas.
Each collection gathers a small set of observations from different fields and explores what they might suggest about emerging shifts in society, culture, and everyday life.

Weak signals are early signs of change: small observations that hint at emerging developments before they become widely recognised. Their value rarely lies in a single example. Meaning begins to emerge when several signals start pointing in a similar direction. And sometimes, when you look carefully at what is forming just outside the agenda, white spaces appear: opportunities and questions that nobody was yet looking for.
The signals come from very different domains. Placed side by side, they raise a question about how many aspects of life (biological, cultural, commercial) are increasingly being shaped by forces outside ourselves, often invisibly, often continuously, and often before we have any say.
If the conditions that form us are increasingly managed from the outside, what remains that is genuinely our own?
